The plants below are some of our field plants which range in size from 15" - 21". These particular pictures are taken from our location in the eastern part of Virginia. As can be seen, the shape is very uniform, and the color is a deep dark green. Maintaining the proper pH is very important in achieving a healthy looking plant with good color.
The plants below are typical of our 24" specimens. They are well spaced to prevent damaging each other and prevention of weeds around the plants gives the leaves full access to sun.
These pictures of some of our 30" plants are taken at two different times of the year. In spite of this, note the
consistency of the color of the plants. Even in fall and winter, if the pH of plants is properly maintained, (6.5 - 7.2)
the plants will retain their dark green color and be much more resistant to any bronzing. This resistance to bronzing is
due to their ability to better absorb nutrients in this pH range. Plants of this size and maturity are very idiosyncratic
in terms of their appearance. Note the plant on the left is slightly more upright and tighter than the one on the left
which is more round and not as dense. The greater the amount of sun exposure causes greater denseness.
Despite these differences, with our large inventory, we are able to match
plants and give a consistent look for all orders.
