Transplanting
English Boxwoods are best moved in the Fall. Late winter/early spring is the next best time to transplant. Maintain the existing depth of the plant, since planting too deep may rob the roots of much-needed air. The roots are wide and shallow, so dig the hole wider than the existing root ball but not deeper since a solid bottom prevents the plant from sinking. Fill the hole with topsoil and organic matter, which also improves the quality of the soil. For a more detailed description go to Digging/Planting.
